to break down that hugely prolific demo process, the discipline behind cutting it to the bare bones, the pressure of keeping pace with a culture that doesn’t slow down, and how the band took the frustration and regret running through Social Disguises and channelled it into tracks that surge with unbridled energy, honest to the core but without a hint of lament or languish.

This interview was emotional, and dug beneath the surface as Tom opened up to Howard about the pressures and processes of the music industry and the journey over the past 20 years. Arriving finally with The Enemy Social Disguises new album

The Enemy Social Disguises Cassette

Last year cassette sales were up 53% (164,000 units) during 2025 in the UK as more music artists catered for the nostalgic tapes coming back into fashion. While they still have a long way to go in becoming as popular as vinyl (7.5m units) have become, more people are adding them to their collections.

The Enemy are giving fans the opportunity to add a cassette of Social Disguises to accompany the CD's and vinyls on offer from the official website. Priced at £7 (excluding postage and packaging) and even cheaper if combined with other pre-oder offers, The Enemy cassette may well become a valuable addition for collectors. The tape will not be available from many outlets, but fans can find it at Townsend Music.
