The Enemy Tour Hits The High Notes

The Enemy began their UK in the seaside town of Weston Super Mare on Friday 28th September 2012, with support from Dexters and The Antics. Songs from the new album 'Streets In The Sky' featured prominently during the packed gig.

Fans have been full of praise as The Enemy returned for their first full headline tour since November 2009. Nick Golledge said, "Great set last night, every song a belter. Whole crowd were right into the new songs. Good luck for the rest of the tour hope it's as mental as it was down the front last night." While Ashley Lapham wrote, "awesome set last night boys, smashed it. Guitars sounded top notch and I was surprised that the pier turned out to be a decent venue!"

Over on Twitter, Kev Coath said the Weston Super Mare performance was the best gig he have been to. Meanwhile Haydn Lewis ‏summed up his feelings by saying The Enemy "smashed it at Weston on Friday." In a review of the gig Rhys Buchanan described it as "punchy, aggressive and manic ..... Tom certainly knows how to stoke a crowd." It seems that The Enemy hit all the right notes with fans and the rest of the tour looks like being a winning formula for fans around the country.

VIDEO: The Enemy - T In The Park (Full Set From BBC)

It took a bit of time and lots of pressure from the band and fans for the BBC to finally get the complete set of The Enemy from the electric T In The Park performance.

Tom Clarke described it saying, "it's by far my favourite 50 minutes of my life so far". He went on to praise fans for sticking up for the band and the BBC for getting the gig online.

Within an hour The Enemy's performance had become the 5th most shared act from T In The Park.

VIDEO: The Enemy Coventry S7ven Live Gig

Here are all 14 videos from The Enemy gig at S7ven nightclub in Coventry, recorded on Thursday 16th February 2012.

The Enemy returned to Coventry with a bang - a gig fans would never forget! Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins, Liam Watts and Tom Boddy did what The Enemy do best ..... they played great tunes that fans love.

S7ven nightclub  was crammed full and the atmosphere was electric as The Enemy took to the stage. There were no barriers, no heavy handed security - this was a date with The Enemy and their fans. No-one left disappointed because The Enemy know how to deliver on what they do best.

Fans from around the world tuned in for the live stream of the event, hosted on the official website www.theenemy.com and other websites. The following videos were recorded by robmacca - the aim was to try and capture the excitement within the crowds. Even when everyone is jumping up and down, singing along and enjoying every moment, the videos show just how lively The Enemy performances are. While the sound/picture quality of the videos do not do The Enemy justice, hopefully you will get a flavour of what the upcoming tour and festivals will be like.

The Enemy - O2 Birmingham Review

The Enemy were back on stage in Birmingham as their Music For The People Tour almost draws to a close and they performed for the first time at the O2 Academy. While Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts played their hearts out in the packed venue, it seems the most determined people at the O2 were the staff/security - who were determined those seated in the balcony should not enjoy themselves!

Maybe they thought this was a gig that required people to be seated all evening, well I'm sorry to disappoint them but tonight The Enemy were playing and seating is not required! Most people up in  the balcony would have loved to stand up and enjoy the gig, just like the previous gigs at the Carling Academy, but over zealous security prohibited such enjoyment. I was already on my final warning and I knew it was either be kicked out or sit still - I opted to watch the band I love, glued to my seat until the final track.

The Enemy never fail to deliver the goods and I was pleased to see the crowds below getting well and truly into the music as the lads delivered a combination of songs from We'll Live And Die In These Towns and Music For The People as well as a new track (it might have been two new tracks but I must admit I'm not 100% sober yet!).

I've always believed that The Enemy should be proud of their second album, but somehow I've felt they were afraid to play more tracks from Music For The People. Just because the second album didn't have the same effect as the first doesn't mean we the fans don't want to hear it. How many times have we been to a gig and heard a live track and then gone home appreciating the song more than before?

Nevertheless, it was good to see The Enemy and this gig was made all the more special by seeing familiar faces at the venue. It was a tour I didn't think I would get to partake in, as I'd been taking part in strikes as a postman trying to defend jobs and the service. Thankfully it all worked out in the end and it was a joy to once again watch the lads perform.

Watch the video below of The Enemy as they played their final track of the night, we rebelled and all stood up on the balcony and finally got to really enjoy ourselves...............

The Enemy @ HMV Coventry

The Enemy took time out of their gruelling tour and returned to Coventry as they performed some of their tunes in front of several hundred fans at the Hertford Street HMV store. Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts then spent time signing copies of their new single, 'No Time For Tears' and chatting to fans. The Enemy were as down to earth as the first time they performed here and happily posed with fans during the record signing.

Here are the videos from the HMV Coventry performance, although I couldn't see anything - The Enemy still sounded great!
