The Enemy: Press Updates

It's a busy week in The Enemy camp but it started off well as The Enemy said on their Facebook page, "Glad so many of you are like Streets, we are like proud parents. Straight in iTunes chart at 8. Not bad."

There have been plenty of stories in the press today as 'Streets In The Sky' went on sale across the UK (all available to read on The Enemy Unofficial website):

The Enemy Coventry HMV Album Signing

Hard to believe it was almost five years ago The Enemy were signing  copies of their debut album 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns' in HMV Coventry. Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts were back at HMV Coventry signing copies of their third album 'Streets In The Sky', a day before the official launch date.

The Enemy have always been proud of Coventry and proud of their fans, dedicating the album to the fans saying, "This album is dedicated to our loyal fans, who always stand by us. Without you this album would not have been possible. This one's for you." It might have been a dull grey Sunday afternoon but it didn't stop hundreds of fans from turning out to support the band and getting their hands on the new album.

It was another chance for The Enemy to meet the fans who have helped put Coventry on the map musically by supporting the band right from the beginning. Some fans had travelled across the region for The Enemy's only Midland signing.  This time around, The Enemy are no longer with Warner music and so they don't have the same kind of budget 'Music For The People' had. But what they do have is a better album that fans will like. Getting back to basics has been a good thing in this instance, as the band have been able to interact more with fans via Facebook and Twitter and the album is a return to form for The Enemy with tracks that fans can look forward to seeing performed live.

Andy Hopkins @ HMV Coventry

Tom, Andy and Liam will be performing at Kasbah nightclub in Coventry on May 21st and 22nd before heading to HMV Manchester on May 23rd, Fopp records in Covent Garden, London on 24th and finally (if their fingers haven't worn out!) The Enemy will be signing copies of 'Streets In The Sky' at HMV Glasgow. (more details can be found on The Enemy Unofficial).

Tom Clarke @ HMV Coventry

The Enemy album launch doesn't contain the same pressures 'Music For The People' had, being signed to Cooking Vinyl has meant the band have had the freedom and time to produce an album that not only sounds good but also gives fans the kind of songs they loved with 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns'. Already 'This Is Real' is standing out as a favourite judging by the comments made so far - hopefully fans will buy the album and find a track that means something to them. Will 'Streets In the Sky' be number one in the album charts next Sunday? To be honest, it's just good to see The Enemy back with a great album, regardless of chart positions. Bring on the live shows, we can't wait ...........
